2012 Marks the 50th anniversary of  the Piscataway Township Employees Federal Credit Union.  PTEFCU was chartered in the fall of 1962 by a group of township employees who had a vision and a belief that “People helping People” was the way of the future.  Today, more than ever, Credit Unions always place people before profit.  At a time when banks and other financial institutions burden their customers with fees, Credit Union membership is growing.  It is growing because Credit Unions are non-profit institutions.  Our customers are members, not numbers.  We do not and will not burden our membership with unnecessary fees or charges.  People are seeing that the Credit Union philosophy is the way business should be conducted.    
  Unfortunately, many of our founding  and charter members are no longer with us, however their spirit and belief in the Credit Union system will live on through our membership.  We owe them a debt of gratitude for their foresight and we hope that our membership will continue to grow and allow us to serve many more future generations of Township employees.
